Dr. Shyama was such a pleasure to have on the podcast this week. As a practicing gynecologist and certified menopause specialist, she breaks down some of the changes we may see in perimenopause and menopause and how this impacts our sexual response.
Dr. Shyama is so well versed on this topic, and as a mother and wife herself she understands how challenging it can be to juggle it all and still find time for pleasure. Because of the lack of education she even got in her medical training when it came to hormones, female pleasure and sexual response, it is her mission to help more people understand what they can do to experience more pleasure and ease during all seasons of life.

New year and a time that so many of us are setting intentions. What I love to observe about this time is about how much of the narrative is about doing MORE. But when it comes to sex and intimacy goals, for most of us it requires us to do less.
To do less to reset our nervous system. To do less so that we can open to receive. Do less so that we aren’t overwhelmed, overtired and overstretched so that we can experience the oodles of pleasure that our bodies are wired for.

Listen, sex shouldn’t hurt. Period. But the truth is sex hurts for many women and is uncomfortable for so many more. In this episode I will share with you six ways to help make sex more pleasurable.
Please note that this episode is NOT to replace medical care and if you are experiencing pain, I highly recommend you speak to your OBGYN and see a pelvic floor therapist.
What is shared in this episode has also helped many of my clients, myself included, dramatically reduce pain and I hope in the least, it will allow you to start relating to your pain in a different way.
